David Mulei is an experienced screenwriter, producer, and playwright with a rich career spanning film, television, and theater. A Fellow at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, Mulei has collaborated with notable talents, including Broadway actors Mitch Tebo and Paula Cale Lisbe. His television credits include Veronica Mars, starring Kristen Bell. He’s written for dramas featuring Tom Cavanagh, Christopher Lloyd, and Mare Winningham.
Mulei has frequently partnered with director Maureen Payne-Hahner. His non-fiction book "Our Game: From Unknowns to Tarp Skunks – 155 Years (and Counting!) of Baseball in Jamestown, N.Y." is part of the Baseball Hall of Fame's collection in Cooperstown.
Currently, he's collaborating with Emmy-winning director Rudi Schwab and Emmy-winning producer Hunter Robert Baker (Turquoise Horse) on the drama series BLACK MESA. Recent projects include Here is a Man, an award-winning short film inspired by the life and work of Donny Hathaway, and The Mystic Rose oratorio with NEC composer Felicia Sandler.
